About Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is one of the four great bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism

His Sanskrit name Ksitigarbha, also is know as the King of Ksitigarbha,
because he is as calm as earth and as deep as hoard

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was once entrusted by Shakyamuni Buddha to stay in the world
after the extinction of Shakyamuni Buddha and before the birth of Maitreya Buddha,
to educate sentient beings to escape from the realm of hell, hungry ghosts, animals,
Asura, humans, and the heavens, and to swear that ‘hell is not empty, I swear not to become a Buddha’.
